Venus on the Half Shell

Venus on the Half Shell - Philip José Farmer, Kilgore Trout Four stars for originality. Yes, a bit risque, but if you're not too fragile, I think you'll live. Kind of a crazy sci-fi novel about sentient supernovas that behave like animals, the Greek goddess Venus (as you might guess), a Flash Gordon-type hero, and a bunch of disjointed escapades (some of the adult flavor) probably best compared to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Not highbrow stuff, a bit on the juvenile side, but entertaining.
