R.Crumb is best known for his late 60's/early 70's counterculture comics, but has had a long-abiding love for jazz and country music of the 1920's and 30's. Crumb's artwork in this book is accompanied by one and two page summaries about the careers and influence of selected artists from that era. The enclosed CD treats listeners to old recordings from the same. This sort of material is not widely available, as there is not a large market for it, but I really enjoy the CD, and highly recommend the book as well. I would love to see more of this sort of thing, from Crumb or others.
