Great art depicting various imaginings of Hell. Naturally H.Bosch is represented, as well as Jan Brueghel and a lot of Tibetian folk art. The book is unfortunately too small to do the art justice: just 7 1/2" x 6 1/2". (that's 19 x 16cm, for you Metric folk!) This would be a far better book if only it were two or threefold larger. The text is so-so... mainly a catalogue of different ideas about the underworld from Egypt, Italy (read: Dante), Babylon, Japan, China, and of course good 'ol Christian Hell. Given the subject matter, I frankly expected something that would hold my attention better.
